The four entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs of the year will benefit from the DWD’s media exposure, financial, development and communication support, valued at 1 million euros.
 
Launched in 2014 by the JFD and supported by Margaret Hamilton, the computer scientist from NASA who sent the Man on the Moon, the Margaret Award highlights women leaders with projects that respond to major challenges our societies face today: sustainable development , demographic explosion, information processing, transformation of education systems, health, mobility, …
 
4 categories: European Entrepreneur – European Intrapreneur – African Entrepreneur – African Intrapreneur
 
Entrepreneurs must meet several criteria to be eligible, such as:
  • Startup founded or co-founded by a woman.
  • The project uses new technologies for a better world.
  • Existing structure in Europe and/or in Africa for less than 5 years.
 
Intrapreneurs on the other hand must mainly demonstrate that they are developing new growth opportunities within their company based on agile and original methods. This category concerns employees of large and medium-sized companies who have developed a project in agreement with their employer while remaining employed, which may lead to the creation of a startup, but also to other innovative activities and orientations, such as new products, services, technologies, administrative techniques, strategies development.
